Students are introduced to the VEX Robotics system, learning the basics of robot design, engineering, and programming. They explore how VEX competitions work and get a direct look at the robots VEX teams build.
Students learn about the complexity of FRC robots, the different roles on a team, and how collaboration drives innovation. Since FRC robots are too large for the classroom, students study videos and photos from past competitions.
Arduino Projects
Students explore Arduino, an open source electronics platform. Working in teams, they learn basic circuitry, programming, and sensors by building a mini robot that can detect and follow a black line, similar to a self-driving robot. Students assemble the robot, wire the components, and program it to stay on course, applying key robotics concepts like motor control and feedback loops.
